I agree with the crazy picture thing. You really can't use a players statements to back an arguement. Cause the are gonna say what is good for the team and even if its not how they if, unless their name is K Johnson or t Owens. Thats all I was saying. Really I am just tired of people saying that Randall desvers to start cause of time invested and not skill of position. Thats just retarded!
I find myself shaking my head in disbelief while reading this thread. What a load of bunk! Katt claims that he is not disagreeing with Saban, while basically calling him an idiot for having a 2 QB system. (even though he might not have a 2 qb system) Islstl is claiming to know MR and JR's state of mind better than CNS (sorry, couldn't resist) and puffing up his chest about his predictions about an LSU player failing. Jeez guys, you went over the deep end in this thread... Bottom line. Saban has a NC. He has the moo-laa. He is the MAN. Let him do his job and support the players that he puts on the field. Ever stop to think that maybe, JUST MAYBE, he has more info about the potential of MR and the needs of JR??? Maybe Saban thinks that MR did not get a fair shot in the first game with the pathetic play of the rest of the offense in the first half. Maybe MR earned a real shot by OUTPLAYING JR in pretty much every scrimmage and practice??? Maybe Saban saw that JR didn't exactly light the world on fire against OSU??? What better real shot for MR than to allow him to go to AU to redeem himself. He won the position and did everything that he had to to win the position. Saban believes it, the team believes it, most of the posters here, and probably JR believes it. In my humble opinion (not "IMHO" in case I offend islstl with my cuteness  ), I don't think that we are going into this game with a two QB system set in stone. Not like, "QB #1 gets the first 2 series and QB #2 gets the next 2 series, etc..". If one guy is hot and moving the team, I would bet he plays the entire game (or at least until we are up by 30 ). If the hook comes out and the other player does OK, that will probably be it for the rest of the season. If neither gets the job done, the position will remain up in the air as it should be. But that is just my opinion and I am not going to tell anyone to come back on Sunday to rub their faces in it. If you want to complain and get all upset, then do it after the fact. Why bitch and complain about something that has not happened yet? You are not going to change things and you won't get any brownie points from us for your predictions about the failure of LSU players. If you have a beef about how Saban has handled it the past two weeks, then air your complaint. Don't come on here and pretend to know more than everyone else about what will happen in the future. Your attitude just comes across as childish. Tone it down a bit and discuss it. Drop the holier than thou. To me this just feels like deja-vu all over again. Didn't fans clamour for Booty... If JR makes up a play and loses to Troy will you switch over to the MR bandwagon or will MF be your man. :dis: Let Saban do his job and hope for the best. MR may choke and cost us a game. But JR may cost us two games. Saban knows who is the best. Let him do his job. If he thinks that what is best for the team is to play both of them in the next game, he will. He is not looking far into the future. He is looking at the next game. That is what he preaches and that is what he lives. If he did any different, he would lose the players trust forever. He is not saying to himself, "you know, it will be hard to win the MNC with a 2 QB system". He is probably saying to himself, "we probably need both QBs to be ready to win the AU game because MR has a history of choking". Damn that was long. Won't be able to go back and forth with you guys on this, got to work hard this week...
Crip...I'll give you that one person amazingly happened to appear on this thread (ironic, isn't it? Highly ironic...But I'll let that dog lie)... Having said that...Who else is saying that Randall should start for that reason? The reason he needs to start is the same reason that Saban will start him. Saban doesn't want Russell to have to shoulder the pressure of starting on the road in his first SEC game. He will start Randall because of this. He'll also start Randall because he knows that he's one injury to Russell away from having to ride Randall through the end of the season. You can't just throw Randall away like yesterday's garbage. Most of the prevailing opinion (and mine as well) is that he spooks when the switch is flipped and the gates are opened and the cameras roll. Knowing this, you can't permanently park his butt on the bench until Russell is totally ready. NO ONE IS SURE OF HOW RUSSELL WILL REACT TO THIS SITUATION. If we don't know, then why try to test him in this manner when you can bring him in off the bench? This is what Saban refers to as "clutter" as I've mentioned before. He has said in the spring, the offseason, and the fall that he isn't high on subjecting his quarterbacks to it. Randall will start, but the game will be won or lost-barring something unforseen-on Russell's ability. No one is denying that. I know that I'm not. You all are creating controversy where it does not exist. No one here is advocating that Randall will be SECOPOY next Monday...What they're advocating is that to prevent the "clutter" that Russell'd otherwise have to deal with, they'll start Randall to keep his mindset healthy and to shield Russell. Bottom line. Now, you and istlstl go find a room, and pontificate for hours on end while staring deeply into one another's eyes, mystified and a little unsure of your feelings now that you two have realized that you share what Crip I believe refers to "butt love"... ;-) We're all Tiger fans, and the preceeding was to be taken as a joke, people! Geaux Tigers!!!!!!
Since Russell didn't start last Saturday, you won't see Russell starting on the road against Auburn. Saban is a big believer in game experience, so he'll start Randall. Unless Randall lights it up early, we'll see Russell play early and often. I don't believe a 2 QB system works in the long run, but you gotta play the hand you're dealt. I really don't care who emerges as the QB ... I just hope one of them steps up and earns the job this Saturday!
I agree with ya T.E on most of those points. The last few not no but hell no. First off I don't like what you were insiting with the first little statement. I don't have to fake proof of my statements, nor would I accuse you of doing the same. You have to admit that the majority of the drones on here are either wanting Randall to start as a favor or reward for sticking around, OR now I am finding think that a 2 Qb system will work. No I don't have to prove that one cause if you are anything of a football fan of either College or the pros, then you will know that a 2 Qb system HAS NEVER worked. It has been tried here at LSU and cost Charlie National championships. But not only here it has been tried many times and each time it spells destory. You can not deny that fact, look it up it is written in the stones of history. If Saban wants to try it fine and if he makes it work, then I will be the first t take my foot outta my mouth, but like I said before he has got alot of ghost to go up against. BUT I still stick with my statement that Randall IS NOT A GAME PLAYER. He may have what it takes in practice, but when he gets under those lights its the deer all over again. I also stick by that people on here think Randall should start simple because he has been a backup and paid his dues. Okay maybe butt lover was a bad choice in trying to catagorize some of this drones opinions.
