I think JR will be in the same mold as Aaron Brooks....lots of talent...a rocket of an arm...but just cant get the job done.
As a Fin fan, and a JR fan -- at this point, I sure hope not. I think they actually signed a JR clone in the off-season (before Culpepper's knee gets better anyway.)
JaMARCUS RUSSELL Twice named SEC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK -Against Kentucky, his two TD passes moved Russell into a third place tie in LSU history for career TD passes with 37. -He became the fifth quarterback in LSU history to throw for 5,000 yards in a career. (Oh, wait, he still has another year of eligibility left?) -Last weekendLSU had season-high 546 yards of total offense and recorded at least 40 points in a game for a school-record tying fifth time this season. -Highest QB rating in the SEC, fewest sacks, two touchdowns behind leader, and highest pass completion percentage. Yeah, poor Russell, he just can't seem to get it done. Sorry Dallas, I told you I wouldn't but I couldn't help myself.
If he can't handle the pressure of the Auburns, Florida's and Georgia's of this world, it will only be much tougher at the NFL level, when the play is at a much faster pace
Nah, Flynn will more likely be another Bill Nelson. Bill Nelson was a Southern Cal Quarterback that sat the bench while All American Pete Bethard started. Bethard was a first round draft pick and was a journeyman who lasted a couple years in the NFL. Nelson was drafted by Pittsburgh then traded to Cleveland. He started for about ten years in the NFL
Some people just don't see it. Last year we had an O-line that could pass block AND run block. And we beat both Florida and Auburn. This year we can only pass block and lose both. When JR goes to the NFL, he will have an NFL Offensive Line (unless he goes to Arizona), a group of professionals... and NFL receivers to throw to, and NFL Running Backs to hand off to....you get the point. He'll do fine. His footwork is not that bad, he has really improved that area. He does a great job of stepping up to avoid the rush and throwing on the run which is something EVERY NFL QB needs to do well on.
What kind of contract is Cullpepper under??? They certainly can't have 3 high priced QB's on the Miami roster.... :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige
If Eli can't handle the pressure of the LSUs and Auburns of this world, how on earth could he ever make it in the NFL. Surely those NFL defenses are tougher than LSU, right? Yep, once again, you are right...
