Where the heck did you get info that the Bears offered Nick Saban only 1.3 million?

He didn't have a choice. I think Bellichick's (sp?) enitre staff was let go when he was fired.

Can't exactly remember, but I think it was for Chris Mortenson. I know he's not exactly "Mr. Credibility" but the Bears job seemed like a logical choice for Saban because he's good friends with their GM. However, the owners control the purse strings and were only offering (if I remember correctly) 3 year $6 million. Not exactly the "half" I mentioned in the previous post, but the point Iwas attempting to make was that he would've had to take a huge paycut if he wanted the job.

    According to ESPN
No way Saban takes a pay cut going to the NFL.

My point exactly. That's why he didn't take the Bears job. According to Mort, that's all Chi. was willing to pay him. Why, I do not know, but I'm glad they didn't

I am so tired of hearing this over and over that unless Randy Muller changes his name to Nick Saban then he is just some guy.

EVERYONE has a price- I suspect that Nick's agent knows the asking price- whether it's 3 or 5 or 10 million, and will call him when he gets the right offer. It would be dumb to think that there's no amount of money that would get him to the pros.
