Everybody's been telling you that Randy Mueller is credible and that this should be taken seriously?

My concern was that if Mueller was indeed the GM of Cleveland that this would be a significant thing. Otherwise I agree, it's like pissing in the wind.

I have a lot of respect for Randy but am still not buying this just yet.

The Browns just got off one college coach.

When the Dolphins job came up, Saban's name was basically the first one thrown into the pot by the media.

Same with this....believe it when I hear Saban say he is interested.

I wasn't aware of the impending dismissal of the Browns head coach (Butch Davis).

    What is the latest word?

Rumor has it, no playoffs, no job. I don't think they will make it in, so we'll see if Brown's management follows through

Hasbeen is making $3M per with the Saints. Saban can get more than that, which would give him more than he is making here.

It ain't just about the money to Saban. He's getting top dollar here. He knows he will command top dollar anywhere he goes. But Nick is a control freak. According to Skip, he controls every facet of the football program and that's the way he likes it.

In the NFL he would be the head coach.

Here at LSU Nick is the general manager, the head coach, the personnel director and has total control of the program. The NFL can't offer him that. LSU has given him every thing he has asked for including the Athletic Academic Center, stadium expansion, and the new Football Center under construction.

Nick has deep roots in Ohio, having coached in and around there his whole career, but I'm not worried about him being offered by the Browns or the Bengals some day. I worry about him being offered by Ohio State University some day. He coached there once for five years and they could actually match LSU's package.

I don't understand why people get so mad about Saban's name constantly being brought up? It's a compliment in a way to how great of a coach he is...

It's just the price you pay for having a top coach...
