I am so glad this poll means absolutely nothing. oops my bad, thought you were talking about the AP... nevermind :redface:
I remember when the Harris poll was created, we were told one of the good things about it was, because it wouldn't come out until mid-season, it would be free of the built-in bias that the polls that start in the preseason carry. So here's the first Harris poll of the year, and its top 9 is identical to the AP. The only difference between the Harris and coaches' top 10's is that 4 and 5 are flip-flopped. So much for no bias.
I agree. It completely defeats the purpose of the October release if they use the previous AP or Coaches poll as a starting point.
