Two games is a pretty meaningless sample, and doesn't really tell us anything about the likelihood of future success. I am sure there have been hundreds of below average QB's who started out 2-0. Really, that's not that difficult and for many teams is very likely. Heck, John Schaeffer went something like 20-0 for Penn State in the 80's and he wasn't especially good.
90 points in those two games against 3 doesn't take him out of the lineup either. :thumb: You've made your point- next question....
Funny, 3 pass attempts have convinced you that RP is the better option for future success. Personally, I think 2 FULL GAMES is a little better predictor than mop up duty against Moo U, Kentucky, Tulane, and USL. I'm sure there have been THOUSANDS of backup QBs that went 2-3 for 20 something and a TD in garbage time of a blowout in an empty stadium. Some probably amounted to something, some probably didn't, some were probably just avg QB's their entire career, some may have never set foot in another game.
Speedy, speedy, speedy, just what are we gonna do with you? You obviously know your football but your MINDSET isn't where it should be! Now if you watch Cool Hand Luke on the t.v. you will find out just how people are given the right MINDSET. You have options speedy, get the right mindset and don't go rabbit on us.:thumb:
I am not convinced at all, but I am willing to entertain the possibility. I am just not convinced that Flynn is going to be able to get the job done. I am willing to stick with Flynn and hope for the best, but I can't help feeling some reservation about it. I figured this would be a good place to express those reservations, and honestly never thought you guys would be so hostile toward them. We all want the same thing. Another :crystal:.
I am a pessimist and college football is a dangerous game. One slip up could cost us our shot. I'll pull hard for whomever is taking the snaps. I just don't want to be let down. I wish I could just enjoy the ride, but my expectations are too high.
So you're willing to entertain the possibility of risking a GREAT chance at atitle to let an in-experienced kid run the offense? How let down would you be if RP started/got substantial playing time, and made a mistake because of in-experience that cost us the game against Auburn? I do apologize if I'm coming off as hostile, that is not my intentions. But for 2 years on this board now, I've read a whole lot of "Fire the Coach" and "Put in the Back-up QB" threads. And it is getting old. Fast! Miles is 22-4 as LSU's Head Coach, has 2 top 5 finishes, 2 bowl victories (one of which is a BCS game). He and his staff feel like the teams best chance to win it all this year, is with Matt Flynn as the starter. I trust the man's opinion in this matter, and have yet to see any reason to change QB's.
Maturity, poise, solid performance on his second career start with a new OC in the rain on the road against an SEC opponent with a reasonable defense. No interceptions. What do you say we give him another shot, Speedy? RP looked good. I am relieved about that, cause Flynn likes (and is allowed) to run more than I would like. _____________ lsutigerbait.blogspot.com
