Rating the 2015 LSU class

He threw at least one pass that was wobbly and the ball kept coming back towards him. As I remember, it went like 25 yards. You should have seen the guys around him. They were ROTFLMAO and were giving him a hard time. But to the character of Russell Shepard, he stood there and took and looked like he was trying to come with a good explanation. The guy is an incredible athlete but he just isn't a great football player. His 5* ranking taking everything into account was a joke. The guy was maybe a low 4* at best. You have to be able to play a position effectively and he never was able to. I don't know if he is still in pro football at all, but at best he will just be a spot duty player.

He was still with Tampa Bay late in the season.

It was hard for him to change positions. He was an athlete playing QB.

First, I have to disagree when people just dump on the QB. The passing game is much more than the QB. Passing game = QB + OL blocking + WRers running the right routes, catching the ball, and knowing when they are the hot/primary receiver + OC playcalling to help the QB succeed. The LSU QBs looked indecisive and couldn't find secondary receivers. The OL wasn't pass blocking good enough...particularly the C and RG positions. The WRers looked lost. Dural for some reason can't stand up on routes. Quinn can't catch the ball nor realizes when he is the hot receiver on blitzes. Dupre seems to block sometimes when he is the primary receiver and his slight build gets him run out of bounds a lot. And of course, the QBs have no TEs to speak of to work with. IMO, the most polished receiver is Diarse who supplanted Quinn as a starter. And of course, we have Cam Cameron who except for the A&M game called no misdirection plays the entire year. When you have a predictable offense, it makes it hard for the QB to succeed.

Poor Les? That's a whole barrel of excuses you got there. Les has not produced in the passing game, in general. Bottom line.

I watched the UA skills comp and he was bad... i don't think he hit a single target... in the distance competition, his throws were wounded ducks... he just laughed it off with the rest of the qbs...

Yeah, LSU didn't produce in the passing game in 2013 which is why LSU for the first time in the program's history had 2 receivers in the same year to account for 1000+ reception yards each.

Late to the party eye. Been covered, beaten to death. It was the anomaly and doubtful it will ever happen again.

I will move along now so as not to stir the pot. 10 yrs, 1 good season at qb. Can't miss on that many.

Really, so Flynn winning the National Championship in 2007 season (well within 10 years) makes him a bad QB? Perrilloux would not have been a bad QB by any stretch, but wait, that was Les Miles fault that after no HS issues, he couldn't handle college. And it was Les Miles fault that Zach Lee was overdrafted in baseball. And of course 2013 with Mettenberger who now starts in the NFL doesn't count because it would shoot another hole in your "theory". IMO, silly post!
