what are you people talking about you don't know where he sees apathy!? i've been to every game this year but arizona and every game is empty by half time. everyone's just kinda sitting around blah blah blah. maybe half the people yell on 3rd down much less first or 2nd. tiger stadium has been pathetic this year. the only good thing about the crowd for fresno st was that none of them left the game because they are actual fans who actually like football (have to be to go through the rain). the big shocker (not so much) of fresno st was that i wasn't hearing anyone calling for miles' head or comparing him to dinardo. it was magnificant. i wish it rained everytime and season tickets were awarded more so to fans than people with the dollars. hell even he stadium club is empty during games.
You also have to consider the fact that all of the home games have been blow outs this year. Nowadays after driving six hours I stay to the end. I also really like some of the young guys play. But when I was an undergrad, with the game already decided and a date that wanted to go drinking somewhere, that's a different story.
A wise coach once said if you want the crowd to cheer give them something to cheer about. Well beating the crap out of our home opponents this year is nothing to cheer about. If a highlight of LSU becomes beating ULL then we are on the wrong road. Say what you want about the past teams and being spoiled etc. The fact is that was never expected to be the LSU football program and it's that expectation that has is where it is today. FANS don't expect it to ever be in the position many people refer to in some of these threads. That is the past. I went to the Kentucky game and left at halftime. Say what you want, I saw no need in fighting traffic for a game against a team with no talent. I have sseason tickets and will be a every game possible. Just a big a fan against UF or ULL. But I will not hang around for the sake of hanging around when the talent level on the bench is higher than the talent on the field. Let it go. To be a fan does not mean you have to be there whistle to whistle.
enough said. :thumb: 45-3, 45-3, 49-7, 48-17, 49-0, 38-6 = zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Yeah, there's no reason in hell us fans should be all upset when we go to Auburn and put up 3. Or, go to UF and put up 13.
I'll never understand people. Why fork over the bucks then worry about traffic? It's very common in fact. A huge amount of people at sporting events start thinking about beating the traffic with about 5 minutes left in a close game. One sign that the game is over (leading team makes a 1st down, or a 3-point play in basketball) and they start streaming down the aisles, looking over their shoulder for a glimpse of one last play. Then, they try to hurry like hell to get to the car so they can hear the ending on the radio. One look at the scehdule and you can pick out the likely blowouts. Why wait until halftime? The talent disparity is obvious long before that. Did you go to the ULL/Kentucky/Miss State games hoping that somehow the opponent had gotten better since you read the morning paper? You sound angry that you cannot enjoy a good game of football because LSU is so good and the opponents are so bad. Kind of hard for me to figure out where you're coming from there. What's wrong with checking out the reserves in those games. I love the blowouts because I'm hoping to see what Perrilioux or KW can do when they get their chance. Keep the faith, though. If you're lucky, Bama will take us to overtime and you can get your money's worth out of those season tickets. PS: Did the Peach Bowl piss you off too?
That's what I want to see what RP or KW can do against either a tired defense or even better a 2nd team defense for a crappy team. I do have a life past LSU football and sometimes I have stuff to do on Sunday after spending all day and night in Baton Rouge. So Every once in a while when I can tell my wife is tired instead of staying to make you guys happy I will leave with her and make her happy. None of it pissed me off. But I am starting to take delight in all these what it takes to be a real fan folks.:hihi: Relax it's one of those years that the home schedule is weak. I would have left the Kentucky game regardless of our record. The game was not fun to watch. I happen to be at work last week but I would have been in the stadium just as wet as the next person. Or maybe I would have stayed dry at the camper and watched it on TV. Who knows. I am here to enjoy life not get approval on my fansmanship.
OK, not criticizing. Just trying to understand. If Kentucky had played over their heads and kept it close for 3 quarters, that would have been more fun for you?
