Yup, I think both teams have reason to get motivated. Here's a great article along the same lines: http://www.heraldtribune.com/articl.../SPORTS?Title=Tigers_will_test_UF_s_toughness
Everybody picked LSU to go 10-2 this year with Florida as the "most likely loss." Even years are not good for the Tigers, with a tough road schedule. We've gone to the SECCG in every odd-numbered year in this century, we've gone ZIPPO in even years. If we win this game we move up big time. If we lose, we move on--the season ain't over.
I'm not sure why I see all the uncertainty in this game from a lot of you LSU fans. I've watched both of you play this season and from an outsider's view (which sometime can be a clearer picture of the reality of a team) I see LSU as being the better team and UF being the team that needs to be "worried". Guys, many of you preach about how "dominant" your OL is and I agree it is. UF strength ISN'T their DL. Games are won in the trenches and LSU has a huge advantage going into the game that will very hard for UF to compensate for. I said it on Tidefans and I might have said it here. I see LSU winning by no less than 10 pts when it is all said and done. Parts of the game might be "close" but in the latter part of the game the OL and DL for LSU will begin to distance the score. Mark it down.
That home field advantage is huge, with LSU playing a freshman quarterback. Lee can throw for 250 yards and Scott can run for 250 more . . . but if Lee throws three interceptions it's "Game over".
Agree with what you're saying. I'm a little nervous about our QB and secondary situation. Any given SEC team at home can play out of their minds for one week so there is always reason to be concerned. I certainly wouldn't complain if this game went just like last years game, although i'd prefer not to lose another seven years off my life this season.
I always have a bad a feeling about big games. But not this one. I see this game kinda like VTech last season... or the State game. Florida is definitely beatable. They've shown that they're beatable. My worry is that they play a "great" game themselves, but at the same time, LSU hasn't shown their best yet either. If both teams show up to play, who's better? LSU won some close games (State and Auburn.) Some see this as a negative (I'll admit that I did,) but it may just be a plus.
This game will be won on turnovers. Who ever can avoid or take advantage will have the edge. Keep pressure on Tebow and things should work out. Just don't give them the momentum because at this stage the emotion of a game can be the deciding factor. We ususally win one we shouldn't have won and lose one we should have won. My feeling if this is a loss I'd rather now than later in the year. Last year was a fluke and the final week was a one in a million shot. Don't look for us to have a late loss and still be in it. I just don't think we can run the table...winning tonight or not.
That's exactly how I feel. I'm usually much more reserved before a big game but I've felt good about this game all week. I know each game in the SEC is a real battle and any team can win on any given Saturday. But... I really feel that the Tigers are a much better football team. The Gators will be up for this game but I have a feeling Les will have the team prepared and they will be ready to play. Our offensive and defensive lines will dominate and their defense still does not impress me. Our Tigers will not be denied.
This post FIRED me up! Two years ago, we threw away the national championship in the Swamp. Guys, we are IN the driver's seat to repeat. Look at where we are ranked, and number one lost today. Forget this even/odd year nonsense. I want to geaux out and kick some azz tonight!!!!!!!!!
