Instead ya'll just burned bobbleheads and everything else that had to do with Fran. Fran was god and how could he leave heaven. I was living in Birmingham and I thought that everyone in Bama was going to try to find him at A&M.

Here are the differences between Spurrier and Saban.

Spurrier was gone for 3 years, Saban for 2.

Spurrier coached against very few of his former players, and he never took credit for Ron Zook's success (though he could have easily--Zook had a winning record with the Gators). Saban gave himself credit for the Sugar Bowl win.

UF had a chance to hire Spurrier and decided against it. Saban's shadow was still very much over Miles until he took the AMAB job.

Saban's leaving still stings, coming on Christmas like it did.

Spurrier didn't lie about staying in the NFL.

The situations are a bit different.

Um he's a coach at a rival school. Even if this was the ONLY strike against him, I would still feel hostility towards the man. Just like the 11 other unfortunate souls who will pace the visiting sidelines of Death Valley over the next few years.

How true, Bama thinks we are hostile now wait to game time.
WE including the football team will be so sick of the stuff
like NS the ex-LSU coach playing LSU.
CNS's only record against LSU is a loss, 42-14 or something like that!

Bama will go 7-5 and lose their bowl game. 32 million down the drain for the boosters.

During the summer months after Nick won the NC at LSU, a local Atlanta magazine did a story on Nick and interviewed him at his Georgia home on Lake Butler.

Nick stated that he only planned to coach until he hit 58 years of age.
    Nick is currently 55.

If that still holds true, he may only be at 'Bama for a few seasons...
...AKA 12 million 'Bama dollars in the bank.

are you naive or do you simply have a short memory?

many Gator fans were steaming when they learned that Spurrier would be coaching at an intra-conference rival
