I wonder what we would look like with Mingo in a LB spot. He's athletic and fast enough to cover side to side. And it would give us more beef in the box. I know its the opposite of how Chief works - he prefers safetys to LB. But i do wonder.

How much different are we at the LB position from last year when we beat Bama?

ALOT different!! Sheppard in the middle was flat out good. He has been the best linebacker to come out of LSU(in my opinion) since the Brady James era.

Yeahhhhhh.... Our current group isn't as good as the Sheppard/Riley/Highsmith/Coleman/Sanders group. ...not by a long shot!

I think we'll be alright moving forward. Barrow, Jones, Minter are all still relatively young and inexperienced. Barrow and Minter are getting valuable playing time (as is Jones-but Jones is a little thin for me--he can bulk up a bit). They just aren't "there" yet in terms of consistant production and the play as a unit (LB) is getting over-shadowed by the line and secondary.

Remember, Sheppard didn't start coming into his own until his RS-Junior season...and then he skyrocketed above everyone!

maybe someone can convince the Alabama running backs to wear LSU jerseys and Karnell Hatcher would have a field day.

Have you seen Bama's kick off they never get the ball close to the goal.
