An update: I've skimmed thru it and, so far, it's about as dryly written as you'd expect a Nick Saban book to be, no doubt. There's good stuff in there, but it's kind of pedantic. I've set it aside for now as I'm tearing through a copy of "Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer", which is a great read even if Warren St. John keeps referring to LSU's colors in the book as being "blue and gold" for some reason.
Who, simmer down now....Nick has an open ticket to always come and go from Louisiana as he pleases. He may live on the Atlantic now, but he will always be from Louisiana to me...
More on Terry Terry Saban is so sweet. We carpooled together for awhile. She would give my kids caps, media guides and rides around their property on their golf cart. She even shared a few meals if they had a lot of leftovers. She cooks a mean spaghetti. I sent them some seafood gumbo after we won the Sugar Bowl (when it snowed that year). Last year she said that Nick really likes college football and having an effect on the young players lives. I think they are really going to miss Louisiana and LSU. The Bengal Belles will really miss Terry. Maybe we should roadtrip and start a Dolphin Dames in Miami...nagh let's just hope Kathy Miles (Is that her name?) is festive! The new coaching staff is arriving at just the right time... King Cakes, good crawfish crop and parades! I thank my lucky stars that my ancestors chose Louisiana 200+ years ago. Good times, good food, good people and LSU football!:geaux:
i arrived at about 330pm for the book signing, purchased 3 books (myself and my 2 sons). i'm not sure how many people were at the signing, i was towards the front. i guess about several hundred. after my 3 books were signed, i shook hands with coach saban and wish him the best, he said he was appreciative of the support. after the signing i felt like payton mannning in one of his commercial's - i'm not going to wash my hand - the wife was crazy about this idea. i think he was reserved of how he would be received at the signing - i'm sure he was pleased. i have read about half the book, useful information, nothing earth shattering, but, it is agood reminder of daily work habits, details, being accountable etc. coach has gathered a lot of information form his father, his high school coaches, and college and pro coaches that he has come across in his years of experience. he does state that someday that he would like to be a nfl head coach, but, not right now. i guess we all can change our mind - and he mentions how people of all kinds have in fact changed their minds and the ex he uses is michael jordan. Coach Nick Saban = class. are we ready for the recruiting bash?
