Maybe I should clarify. That Mark Richt knows about a recruiting violation was reported as fact by a rivals.com reporter. "Rumours" abound as to which teams offered the money.
Things reported as "fact" often turn out to be simply untrue. If I'm going to believe part of the story, I have to believe all of the story since it all came supposedly from this Rival's reporter. I do not believe Mark Richt would tell a recruit, "if you choose one of these schools, i'll turn them in, if you choose us, i won't turn them in". Doesnt sound much like CMR. If it happened, it happened and I would expect CMR to turn whatever school in. Things just don't seem to add up right. Too many unknowns in this story for me to believe it quite yet.
I'm curious, the Rivals.com writer you are talking about...what Rivals site does he write for? I ask this for one specific reason. In today's age of the 'net, there is one thing you can't outrun...that being bad reporting. I'd be willing to bet if the guy said this on the radio, he's probably been behind a lot of other things in the past. I would love to know his "track record" when it comes to accurate reporting.
I also think that the NCAA needs to go take a look at USC. I mean they have got to be doing illegal recruiting, take KW for instance. I also think that Coach O from ole miss is doing some messy things down in Oxford. what does everyone else think. I just hope and pray that Coach Miles is doing everything up to par with NCAA standards, I believe that he is.:helmet:

Just because someone is a good recruiter, it doesn't mean that they are doing illegal things. Orgeron was widely said to be the best recruiter in the nation, and while I don't doubt that he engages in some questionable practices, he might not be doing anything "illegal". For him to land a top 15 class at Ole Miss, I'd have to agree that he is the top recruiter in the country. Pete Carroll has made his team a consistent winner, where kids can go & play for national championships. He's also played more freshmen than 98% of other college programs, and shown that he can get players into the NFL. Add that to USC being in Southern Cal, and it's easy to see how the recruiting could be successful there without violating any rules.
I agree that USC is an easier sell then other schools in the county, and that Coach O's title of best recruiter in the world (while at USC) was probably a bit over inflated due to all of the attributes surround USuCk...BUT USC and LA is a FAR cry from Ole Piss and Oxford. It might not be all that soon, but I would be willing to bet serious $$ that Ole Piss gets popped soon for a very serious recruiting infraction. I think the Deuce incident was the very extreme tip of the iceberg! I guess we can all wait and see....
No offense, but with LaRon returning for his Sr. season, WHY would we have gone to such lengths as to offer money to Reshad Jones? (obviously, no one said is was SPECIFICALLY Jones...NOR that it was SPECIFICALLY LSU...but I'm just throwing some Devil's advocate in that direction since someone mentioned Jones and LSU earlier in the thread).
