What I'm suggesting is that a 2% difference represents an opposition party that is practically as big as the controlling party. It makes sense to find moderate compromises under such circumstances. A party with such a small advantage should not imagine it has a national mandate to railroad the minority. It's too easy for the tables to turn, as they have many times.
Until we hear concrete plans from the RDDB party about how to fix all of those issues the status quo will remain. It is not enough to say "YOU'RE WRONG", one also must say "HERE'S WHY I'M RIGHT". As if the Democrats would do anything about social security and illegal immigration. Their plan for budget deficit is simple: do away with tax cuts and indeed raise taxes even higher.
