    Marketer files lawsuit against Bush

Lake seeking to recoup nearly $300K in alleged gifts

Does the NCAA read the news? If this suit is successful and proves that Reggie Bush took money while playing at USC will the NCAA act?

Does the NCAA follow its own rules? It's a selective process with those guys...depends on what they get out of it. I wouldn't be surprised one way or the other.

If USC has to give back it's BCSNC then I wonder how the NCAA handles this. Isn't that the year Auburn went undefeated? That would be tough for Auburn to swallow.

    I'd imagine it's simply vacated.

It was obvious that Reggie would eventualy have to pay for this.

The circumstances surrounding the incident or in no way chance. Your mom doesnt have a house with their name engraved in the pavement, and it just so happen to be in the name of a sports marketing firm, while your son is in college.

I mean, its just a matter of gathering the facts. USC will pay dearly for this one, once everything is brought to light.

Reggie Bush to 'vigorously' fight lawsuit

By David Wharton, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer
    10:26 AM PDT, October 31, 2007

The lawyer for Reggie Bush said this morning that his client would "vigorously" fight a civil lawsuit filed by a would-be sports marketer who claimed Bush received cash and gifts while still playing for USC.

Lawyer David Cornwell said he had not received a copy of the complaint, and reiterated previous claims that the plaintiff, Lloyd Lake, a convicted felon, is trying to extort money from Bush.

Lake alleges that a fledgling agency he helped to create gave Bush and his family the equivalent of more than $291,600. Lake's lawsuit was filed Tuesday in San Diego.

"The ex-con plaintiff has been in and out of prison over the past few years and probably has not earned $291,600 in his lifetime," Cornwell said in a written statement. "We look forward to reviewing his tax returns and pay stubs."

I wish they would handle this in the off season. Bush doesn't need any distractions if the Saints are going to win out.
