1. Because the committee does not rank from 9-16, which seed you get is not important.

They pair the regionals based on geographical proximity, so we were getting Rice here unless they got a SR host themselves.
  2. I understand the proximity siting. The 9-16 seeds were never a concern for me. The NCAA tries to maximize attendance and minimize trave for the SRs. What I argue is the ridiculousness of placing Georgia Southern in Fullerton and UVA in Irvine. Not that I wanted UVA here...
  3. i was hesitant to say anything bad about osu. family loyalty thing goin on. but i talked to my dad earlier (an osu grad and fan) and even HE says his team doesnt deserve to be in.
  4. Re: Regional Predictions (Selection Show 11:30, Mon, ESPN)

Bottom line is the Road to Omaha begins in Baton Rouge, and for anyone to get there they will have to get past the Tigers. For many the Road to Omaha will end in Baton Rouge at the hands of the Tigers.

    GEAUX TIGERS #1 !!!!!!!!
  5. Someone said which seed you get is not important. I thought national seeing has some relevance when it comes to seeding the teams that make it to Omaha.
  6. The thing about minimizing travel is total bs.
Look at the pairings and tell me they are trying minimize travel when you regionals way west of louisville, ole miss, and clemson and they send those three winners our to the west coast. Its just complete crap if you ask me. And that's not even getting into the crap about certain teams from a certain conference getting in. Seems this committee was a bit political.
  7. they must be considering both distance and scheduling. i wouldnt be happy if they weeded out most of the SEC teams by making them play each other before Omaha. for example they put UGA at Tallahassee while Atlanta and Clemson regionals are closer. UGA has already played GaTech and Clemson. Tallahassee winner plays Oklahoma winner. i think they did a good job with the bracket.
