My guess is Baylor is the only school that recruited him as a QB. The dude was 3rd in the nation in hurdles as a freshman. I don't blame the other schools bc no one thought he was gonna be this good. Glad he proved them all wrong and laid the beatdown on UT last week.

About 30 percent of the vote in.

Luck is closing in slowly, but still way behind.

118 first place votes for RG III, only 34 for Luck. RG III has been on about 85 percent of the ballots, Luck is only on about 60 percent of them. Not all the votes from the ballots have been made public (some only disclosed their winner or first and 2nd place votes). So RG III is probably on well over 90 percent of the ballots and Luck about 2/3rds.

This website said they are prepared to make an early call once they clear 200 ballots (currently at 189). So it's apparent RG III will be the next Heisman winner.

    Thank God.

Andrew Luck will be the first QB to finish 2nd in the Heisman (twice actually) AND be a bust in the NFL.

Before now, it's only been the Heisman winners who have been busts at QB.

I don't know if anybody was watching the CBS pre-game show sunday when RG3 was on but he said LSU by name as a big school that wouldn't offer him as a QB wanted him to play WR or DB. To bad for us could you imagine this team with him

Wow! If we had him, we could be 13-0, with a perfect BCS average, and headed for our third BCSNC in 8 years. Oh, wait...

I get your point, but let's keep some perspective.

And what about the last 2 seasons without winning the SEC West or a BCS bowl game. If you don't think RG3 would have helped the past 2 seasons you must not have seen him play this was not a 1 year thing like Newton. Yes he got hurt last year but still I would much prefer to have RG3 over JJ and Lee. Yes this season has been great but you can't look at 1 season and say thats all that matters.

Just for grins and giggles, do you honestly think Crowton would've developed this kid at all?

Again, we're on target for our 3rd BCSNC in the past 8 years, and people continue to harp on an anemic offense from the past two seasons.

Obviously, we didn't have everything in place for a great NC run until this year. Two senior QB's were a big deal in that equation--not to mention the addition of competant offensive coaching.

RGIII also had the benefit of playing in the Big 12, where defense is not necessarily played by many of the teams. One might ask if RGIII would've been as successful playing with the big boys. (Note: RGIII had a great season this year.)

For every guy like him that works out, there's 20 that don't. Our coaches do the best they can and they will miss some times. A lot of guys whiffed on Tyrann Mathieu. It's not an exact science.

Yes they are playing for the 3 BCSNC in 8 seasons but can you tell me that with better QB play the past 2 seasons it couldn't be the 4th in 8 years? Stacey we are just going to have to disagree. I do believe he would have made a difference the past 2 seasons. If you think JJ or Lee have close to the talent of RG3 you are crazy, and talent can even over come coaching (Crowton) and as I said if you think he was a 1 year fast in the pan guy you must not have seen him play last year.

I will certainly agree that we were adequate QB play away from playing for it all last year.

The previous poster noted that for every RGIII or Tyrann Mathieu that blows everyone away, there are 20 like them that do nothing.

I'll admit I did NOT see him play last year because Baylor sucked, as they almost always do, and I watch the SEC, so the Big 12 isn't great football to me.
