again, it has nothing to do with race. These people are thugs, criminals at large. Same as the gangs in Memphis. Mayor Guli cleaned NYC up somewhat.... NOLA and Memphis haven't done that yet. So why are they all black? Because the inner city is 99% black. In another place they could be Palestinians. yes they are all the same race. They are banding together because they have a visible thing in common, skin color, but that isn't all. They band together to achieve what they can't as individuals, wealth, self gratification, basically Rape Pillage and Burn. They do this Illegally by preying on their own kind mostly, but not necessarily, they are opportunists. Usually the Police can keep it to a level acceptable by society. BUT after Katrina the police are stretched thin and Oppurtunity is increased. So they take it. The hardened ones PLANNED it. It will always go on until society as a WHOLE.... white, black, red, whatever, law abiding citizens elect officials that will clean up these metropolitain areas. EDIT: I'll add that this should be a wake up call that this city is enduring these wounds from day to day ALL ALONG, but to a lesser degree. When do they elect officials that will quit letting the Tail wag the dog. In LA they called it "white flight" ..... white people leaving the city.... You can see it happening in Memphis. I don't mean leaving as in for a day or two, I mean moving away.
Don't preach to people who are angry and frustrated. On MSNBC just now, Al Sharpton was asked if he should condemn the acts of those who are doing the most damage. He said yes, but then goes into a tirade about where were the police, why didn't they get a handle on it, where is the government...etc..I flew into a profanity laced rage and walked in here to blow off some steam. Another thing I realized, as I saw all of the angry people at the Superdome screaming at the cameras, asking where the help is. I realized that these are all people who have depended on the government all of their lives to provide them with food, shelter, transportation and all of the necessities of day to day living. Now, they are thrust into an untenable situation where they have to fend for themselves and they have no idea how to do it. They have no clue how to do for themselves. They are totally dependent on the government and without immediate help, the either lash out in anger or drop to the floor with a wailing moan that would put any drama queen to shame. I'm just going to have to stop watching the news.
Well said, and very true. Someone told me today that they were going to try and get the SSI checks out to the people wherever they are. You know what that means don't you? Once the checks start arriving and the section 8 homes are made available, no reason to leave.
