1. Anyone hear Richt's story about being a QB? He was a QB at Miami, and had to sit behind Jim Kelly, his senior season at Miami, the Canes signed Bernie Kosar and Vinny Testeverde, then he goes to Denver to be a QB, and the Broncos get John Elway, then he goes to the Dolphins and they get Marino. Great story.

  2. Interesting to compare coaching football to coaching baseball and basketball.

In most cases: successful football coaches were not great players. This allowed them to start coaching in their 20s (because their playing careers were over) and work their way up.

But in basketball and baseball, someone like Phil Jackson, Steve Kerr, Joe Torre, Lou Piniella, Mike Scoscia, Doc Rivers, etc. can have long playing careers, step into coaching, and be successful as a HC within a few years.
  3. You're in good company... A lot of us wish that we could have seen how these jobs would have played out with Jimbo coming here !!!!!!!!

  4. We would have had a nice staff that's for sure.
  5. Bama is one of the places he could end up for sure with Smart gone. In fact I'd be surprised if he doesn't. He's not getting a HC job any time soon.
  6. Richt doesn't think so.
  7. And we could have had him. FucKing Alexander....
  8. He was laughing about it when he was telling the story. Possibly laughing to keep from crying though.

  9. Smart or Moosknuckle? I'm on the no-Moosknuckle wagon. Dude is serviceable but way overpaid. Dodged bullet.
