Rick Jones would probably be a popular choice just because of proximity, but there are better coaches out there that would be easier for LSU to land, and be an easier pill for baseball fans in LA to swallow. I'm actually against any MAJOR coaching change for the time being. LSU should let Turtle coach a while and TRY to at least talk to Bianco in the mean time. If things don't go over well with CMB, at least we tried to get him and didn't jump on the first guy ASAP. Hopefully Skip realizes we need some changes in either the coaching, or the way the coaches coach or communicate. Brady's head was being called for the last two seasons, but he sat down with Skip and look what happened--a F4 team! I also thinks it helps that he has Butch Pierre and John Treloar on staff, but maybe that's what Smoke needs--a better ass. coaching staff? He definately need to adress his pitching methods.
I like him. He is quietly pulling the team together. He strikes me as the quiet, no nonsense, "professor of the game" type. I think that OSU is lucky to have him.
