Even someone as freakish as Vick can suffer in a bad offense. Bustle was one of the earliest coaches to use the shotgun spread option in its "modern" form.

Bustle does leave the program in better shape than how he found it. The facilities and academics are far above and beyond what he started with. Also, there is now a "RCAF" to help with money issues.

to somehow equate sw la to LSU?

LSU ain't hiring bustle, although i can think of an oc and o line coach i'd give to you to prop up your high school team

This, our ST was one of the bright spots of the season. Yes we could improve on kick coverage, but when your return specialists, get you to the 40+ yd line every time, and your punter puts the opposition inside the 20 on most kicks, that little weakness isn't something to really worry about.

That's kinda how I feel about it. If not for special teams this year, we could have ended up a whole lot worse than we did.

So in a nutshell, Dan.. I'm not even remotely interested in entertaining the thought.

You must have never seen VT play when Bustle was there. Teams were scared to punt and kick fieldgoals against them. In fact special teams are what put VT on the map. People used to watch VT play just to see how many punts would be blocked and returned for TDs. Im sure some of the older posters on this site can back me on this.
On TV games all the announcers would talk about was how great VT special teams were. All Im trying to say is.... With Tiger Athletes Bustle would make LSU special Teams Scary.
This season Special teams were decent because of PP7 and Josh Jasper not the special teams coach. LSU had a couple of great special team players....not a great special teams coach.

Why would you put a bandage on a papercut when you have a broken arm? LSU does not need a new special teams coach at this time.

Bustle is a great special teams guy. UL always led the Sun Belt in punt blocks, kick returns, etc.
LSU does not need a new special teams coach at the moment.

Yes, I am well aware of VT and Bustle's capabilities, but LSU does not need a ST coach. Also, how do you think these guys, PP7 and Josh got to be so special, coaching had just a little bit to do with it, and PP7 doesn't break open runs as he has unless there is some type of good blocking to open up the field, also has to do with coaching. Nope we don't need a ST coach at the moment, we have much greater issues to address before we worry about what ain't broken.
