Anybody with the info on this? They only show 16 commits, it was 18, looks like a 3 star and 4 star player. If this is true, LSU will finish 1st ahead of them afterall. I just wonder if this is temporary, much like when rivals pulled off Kuale off out commit list and added him back soon after. Herman Johnson commit will put LSU in a virtual tie with USC.
5 recruits are left for LSU to pickup: 1) Herman Johnson 2) Tony Bell 3) Lavelle Hawkins 4) Jae Thaxton 5) Calvin Darity All are 4 star rated. If LSU picks them all up, LSU's average would top out at 3.76, which is incredible (2nd behind only USC). Jay Lucas is no longer being offered a scholarship. LSU could end up with 28-29 recruits. They currently have 24 now per rivals.com. This also does not count punter Brady Dalfrey (who will walk on) and TE Jeremey Jones (who will count towards 2005).
We have a grea recruiting class today. This numbers thing with USC feel like the BCS thing and gives me a headache.

One of those Hawaii players decommitted. Something like Sakele Faettette (too hard to remember how to spell). He wa a 4 star ATH. This is good news if they cant replace him with a player of his caliber. They do still have good players on the board as do we. It should be close now!!!
I'm really not a fan of oversigning, so the fact that we have as many commitments as we already do and we are still looking makes me nervous. I love our class, don't get me wrong, but I'd much rather a class like USC's where there isn't as many people, but each person was of the highest caliber. Oh well, I guess it's up to Saban to figure out what he's going to do with everybody if he can't give them all scholarships.
LSU has to be down to 85 scholarships in August. We only lost 18 seniors and 2 juniors, am I right? I just don't see us signing 28 or 29. There will be attrition due to grades and transfers at overloaded positions, but I don't remember ever losing 9 in an off season. Plus every scholarship Nick gives over the 25 equals one signee that isn't expected to make grades.
from reading the board on sportsline, rumors are swirling that USC pulled a scholarship from of the two decommits for an injury he's had since before he committed and that there is a lot of unrest with the rest of their recruits b/c of the way USC handled the situation. If they were going to pull his schollie, why not pull it earlier to give him a chance to visit other schools?
This is where Nick Saban and the other coaches come in to the mix. They can mold some of those 3 and 4 Star players to the next level to be 4 and 5 Star players. With the right attitude and the professional business like approach we would go further than the soldiers of Miami or USuck.
