stats are stats... I mearly pointed out that in 20 games we went to the line an average of 20 times per game. This game we go to the line 6 times. This is a huge difference and because we are more of an inside team, it affected the outcome of the game.

got-fried said they basically needed this game for their postseason lives. i told the resident gump LSU was gonna lose for this reason. they played stellar defense and contested every shot.

garrett should not have been guarding steele. this was obvious ummm about 4 mins into the game. i think the refs called a very good game just like it was postseason. ya gotta learn to play physical and deal with the adversity or making the postseason won't matter cuz you'll be one and done.

got-fried did a good coaching job on LSU. LSU had a good plan minus temple. brady specifically told his players not to allow any inbound pass to steele yet no one was ever near him. they didnt want it as much as the gumps and paid the price.

Which is a stupid statement according to SabanFan, who believes players play 100% every game. :dis:

I understand that Jeff. But, in our series this year that doesn't hold water. You may be averaging 20 FT's a game, but in the 1st game you went to the line 1/2 that amount and still won.

You were the same team the first time, the fouls were very close in number, yet we split the series. I'd buy that in another game, but not this one.

This series, with a couple of exceptions on both sides, has been won by whomever had the home court advantage (IE: fan/crowd support.) Both coaches this year made some great calls. As example, in the first contest Brady had Mitchell hitting the zones that are open when Bama wasn't playing a man defense. This time around, in the second half the adjustment to a box and 1 was just enough to give Bama the edge.

Exactly...No go back and review how many times we get to the FT line and you'll find it to be similar to LSU's stats. Just because you average that doesn't mean you should expect it every game...:dis:

You were the one and only person on this board to yell 8 vs. 5 because of the refs. That shoud tell yourself something right there...

i could care less how many times alabama goes to the line. Read the subject of the post and it is very true that the road in the SEC is very difficult. You bammers used to not be so sensitive... Now that Rutledge and Clogherty are off your payroll, you have to suffer like the rest of us.

im getting the impression that you dont realize that the "8 vs 5" refers to the # of players. LSU actually played 7, but only 5 got significant PT.

i think the game was called ok. but there is no denying that they screwed up the goal tending call against TT. that was at an important time, too.

Actually I meant the zebra's... I think the crowd pressure at SEC arena's play a role in how games are called. Clogherty was at our Tip off club here this week and said that only veteran officials can handle the pressure and not feel they have to be a lean to the home team. The 8 on 5 was a term that Wimp used Mr Elephant when he would play Kentucky at Rupp. It wasn't my original line.

Clogherty did tell a funny story that when Norm Sloan was coach at Florida, he went into the Officials dressing room and went face to face with an official in the shower fully clothed.
