Damn! It seems like everytime I watch the Lady Tigers on the tube - they lose!!! They do better - like defeating Penn State - when I either don't watch or only catch the last minute of the game. As a former cajun baller - and proud of it - I've learned to control my emotions when acknowledging a Tiger team has lost. So my only unsolicited advice to the Lady ballers is thus: [1] practice shooting free throws, don't quit until you can make ten-in-a-row and shoot for the back of the rim as you have no possible recovery from an "air ball"; [2] have every player go through extensive ball handling exercises (performance against CAL was atrocious) - unforced turnovers punished this team unmercifully; [3] improve every player's court presence, knowing where your "man" is at all times. I started shooting baskets in 1955 and still enjoy watching both LSU teams. See you next year and better success for our Tigers.
Women's basketball is extremely difficult to watch. Dr Dog, what you described as deficiencies are prevalent amongst most women's college basketball teams. It's the inherent nature of the talent level.
Mark Cuban and Shane Battier beg to differ: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketball/woman-nba-mavs-owner-sparks-debate-article-1.1308671 It's possible he really believes this....or it's possible he's a media attention whore.
OR he's a media attention whore? It's Mark Cuban, the guy gives tips to Paris Hilton on how to be a bigger media attention whore.
