Ironically, this came up in the original "will Russell go pro" threads. I don't blame you for missing my investigative posts on the matter, since most of those threads were unbearably dull (and obvious.) http://www.tigerforums.com/showthread.php?t=48306&highlight=rohan
What happened with him? I thought I remember him being called one of the "better backups in the league" earlier in his NFL career???
He was stuck behind Tom Brady for pretty much his entire career. The only game snaps he ever got were in the preseason.
There are some interesting names in Arena football like former Saints Boo Williams and Adrian McPherson. Shaun King is on a roster, too.
why was he not given a chance at halftime with the team down 44-0?????? to get shut out for a drive in Arena is egregious, a whole half awful. I can't believe they only scored 7 points. rohan must really be hated because that murray cat was playing like crap and he still couldn't get in.
Adrian's back in the AFL? I had no idea. He gets ran over by the Titans mascot and then gets cut by the Saints. It's a shame, really. I met him at training camp last year and I asked him which he liked better, AFL or NFL (of course he said NFL). He was actually pretty nice. That's my football he's signing .
Rohan has always been a crappy practice player, and a great gamer. He has always won when he was given the nod, but had trouble proving to coaches in practice that he was the guy. The Pats really screwed him. After he was the MVP of NFL Europe and he led his team to a World Bowl win there was interest from teams that would have given him at least a chance to compete for a job. NE refused to trade him. Of course the next season Casel comes in and they like him as a backup, so they let Ro go. It was a longshot still, but he never had the opportunity to strike while the iron was hot. When he was cut, the perception that a guy that never took a college snap was better than him runs rampant through the NFL, and there is no real opportunities for him. He just becomes another guy that has won some games in college, but can't prove on the practice field that he can get the job done. I am not a fan of arena football, but I don't think I have ever seen a team only score seven points in a game. He should get his shot now to get on the field, and hopefully a chance to get back into the big league.
