Sounds like the kid wants/needs lots of attention...which is not a bad thing. He should look at the integrity of the coaches and the kind of instruction/guidance he'll get at LSU. Saban wants him because of his incredible athletic ability, but he will also teach him how to be a man and conduct himself. I'm not so sure he'll get the same quality attention at Texas.

Maybe you can cut and paste the article for us.

  3. It wont let you copy the story. Its still on the front page, about the 3rd story on tigerbait.com. You have to have a membership to view it but they have free 7-day trials sometimes. I think they just had one, maybe it's still valid if you e-mail them.

Yeah, I actually went there and saw it on the front page but as you mentioned, you must be a member to read the entire story. I kinda figured that they wouldn't allow you to cut and paste, being a payed site and all. Oh well.

Well you could go to Edit>Select All then do ctl-c to copy the text...but the point is that is illegal and I doubt TF would allow you to post it.

I hear from a person within the UT program that says Texas will let Davis (The O.C.) go soon.

Interesting to see what RP does.

  7. Yeh, tried that already. What I mentioned above was the gist of the story though, it's all still up in the air.

It's a funny thing about 18 year olds...It's about as logical to bet on them as it is to listen to what they say in the media...

We all know what it's like to be that age, and very, VERY few are able to handle all that attention and all that pressure. Much less handle the recruiting. Then again, some are mature beyond their years...

I remember doing an interview with Marquise Hill when he was a senior. Tigerbait had just done a story where he said he was a "strong lean" to Michigan...Tigerbait had asked him for a %, and he said he was 80% to UM...

I opened by asking him what he thought about the process, how talking to the media differed from talking to the coaches. I wanted to know how people running sites came off asking questions that they wanted to hear the answers to differed from coaches who told you the answers they thought you wanted to hear.

He thought it was funny, and his approach was to tell everyone what they wanted to hear. He said that from the way people sounded, that's how he tailored his message. He said he had just gotten off the phone with someone that sounded more like he thought Marquise had already made his mind up to sign with Michigan...So he told him that he was leaning towards Michigan...

I couldn't believe how much the kid was opening up, so when he finished, I asked him, "So who are you really leaning towards through all of this..."

He said, "I'm LSU all the way, if you ask me." Which is exactly the way it ended up.

The point is that recruiting is a crazy process, and while some kids aren't really set up to handle it, some kids play like their at the World Series of Poker, like Hill did.

You gotta believe that one reason that Perriloux committed to UT was to eliminate some of the dozens of phone calls that his family was receiving on a daily basis. I seriously doubt he will sign with UT come national signing day. As much as anyone, I want to see him in Purple and Gold. And I believe that we are still a frontrunner. But, this guy will be a total crapshoot right up to the end.

From everything that I have heard, RP is a good kid, a team player, enjoying the hoopla associated with being a top ranked recruit. He HS coach is old-school, hard-nosed, and that has been positive for keeping him focused. This is evidenced by his playing safety in last week's game when the secondary was beatup. With Saban and Jimbo able to make in-home visits, at whatever frequency necessary/allowed, we are well positioned to sign the kid. Now its all over but the waiting.

There is significant dissatisfaction with OC Greg Davis in Longhorn land.

A couple of weeks ago, I read somewhere that Perilloux said if Davis was let go, he would re-consider his committment to UT.
