I spend a lot of time there in Houston. I was there for Thanksgiving. I went to the OU-UT game. I almost went to UT and really like the school. Austin is way to liberal & just plain wierd though. I myself can be cocky, and kinda liked that about Texas before I decided where I wanted to be. It didn't take me long to realize the difference: Texas is cocky regardless of wether they have a reason to be. They will always be cocky. It doesn't matter wether their football team is 0-10... it doesn't matter if a degree from there didn't get you hired at McDonalds... they are ignorant, arrogant fans.
