Had the chance to take my nephew out Thursday, with my brother along for the trip. We were ATTEMPTING to catch trout...I swear. But we caught the antithesis of trout today...nice bull reds. We didn't keep any, but had a great time catching and releasing some monsters, and I was able to catch a nice flounder to take home. We eventually headed to the marsh, but could only manage rat reds, along with one 29" red. None in the slot, no good eaters. No big deal, I have enough in the freezer now, and catching those bulls was a blast. I managed to eke out the biggest at 40"...on light saltwater tackle. I was using a 6' Falcon rod with a Shimano 2500 Symetre...not exactly bull red tackle...but man is it fun! Here's some pics... My nephew Ryan with the first of the day... I just take advantage of the time I have off. I've managed 8 trips since I got home March 2nd...which is about half of what I WISH I have managed. If I can stay home a couple more weeks, it's gonna get right...and I'm gonna get on some trout. I worked away from home 312 days last year...I told y'all I was mad at the fish!!
