What you have to remember is this is a man who would not make time for the president and yet has time to call a radio show. I will always be greatfull to Saban for his time at LSU. And i dont have any hard feelings over him doing what he thinks is best for him and his family. But i will say he moved on and is now the enemy. I bleed puple and gold and he doesnt anymore if he ever did. Because once you bleed purple and gold there is no other color for your blood. I am sure he has fond memories of his time in BR but brother he is now the enemy and dont ever turn your back on the family to go to the rival in the sec. Its Hatfield and Mccoy time as far as i am concerned and if we ever have him down by 30 i will be wanting to score again. No offense Saban but you broke the faith and its time to go the matresses and get down and dirty. In the immortal words of Al Bundy. Lets Rock
Saban is the coach who went in Russell's living room and convinced him to come to LSU. He coached Russell for two years. Of course there is that respect for Saban, as there probably is among most of his former players. I know lately there's been a lot of effort to smear Saban personally, but he's not this monster everyone makes him out to be- he's just a little impersonal, that's all. He has made decisions based on what he thought was best for his career at the time, and you can hear in his voice that he loves LSU and misses it tremendously. He is the greatest coach in LSU history, and as he said "You don't have to dislike someone to compete against them." I wish more of our fans would keep that in mind. Hearing them talk about 2003 and the National Title brought back a lot of good memories.
How does he compare to the second "Greatest" coach in LSU history and who would that be? He's also the coach who went in RP's living room and turned him away......jus sayin. :thumb:
I understand what your saying and want to agree with you but I am starting to wonder if giving RP a scholarship was such the right thing to do. With him being suspended and the problems out there and all maybe the best thing would've been for RP to stay in his living room!:sob:
I agree with you 100% and it even crossed my mind; however, with Saban, we may have never gotten that chance and it was, at least up to this spring, comforting to "Think" we had another one on the depth chart, should we need him (I realize it may prove to have meant little but at the time) and who knows, maybe things will pan out. Good point though. :thumb:
I wonder, had we not hired Saban, who would have taken the job? Where would we be. No Clayton, no Spears, no Russell.
