Russell has my full confidence. I never thought I would say that, but I came into this game with some doubt. He was impressive. There were maybe 2 or 3 passes that were off. There were at least 7 drops and 3 of those by Early. However, it appeared that JR didn't get mad about those and in the end still went for Early for the win. Good job Early.

JR's arm strength was in full display last night. He was incredible and the arm strength displayed on that game winning pass was amazing. On the run from the 45 yard line and it was on a rope.

If Bo Pelini wakes up and ditches this zone defense for every down, we will be tough to beat. But the defensive scheme has to change. With that said I have to give it to the D players for hanging in there after all the time they had to spend on the field in the 2nd half. I don't blame those guys at all. Also, kudos to the offense for not getting down about the D's performance but taking upon yourself to win the game.

Pelini better do something different for SEC games because our offense will not be able to move at will at anytime against SEC defenses.

    Russell to Doucet

Anyone think that JR to ED could be one of the best QB to WR tandems in SEC, if not the NCAA when all is said and done. They are both Sophmores and have a full three years to do it. They both talented enough to do it.

I think you're right. But they both just need to get over mental mistakes. Russell didn't seem to have any mental lapses yesterday, but Early surely did (with all the dropped passes).

Kudos to Russell for sticking with him, and having enough faith in Early to come up with that TD catch to win it. I think them having confidence in one another will help both of them in the long run.

Russell is developing a reputation for the big time. Driving 91 yards with 3 minutes to go for the game winning TD in a hostile environment is Elway-esque. There I said it...he also did it in the Capital One bowl, and through no fault of his own he didn't get the win. He's done it other times as well...the team has confidence in him and obviously he has confidence in himself now. These types of moments are what makes a team fortify their will, what makes them realize why they never give up (and they apparently do not).

EXACTLY! This team I believe carried over the values of playing the full 60 minutes from the Saban era. I am sure a lot of us are thinking about the 2003 season, including myself; and the resemblance of the winning touchdown from Mauck to Skyar to the touchdown JR to Doucet. As mentioned earlier in this thread, I also believe and hope Doucet has grown from this. I have been waiting to see him having a breakout season this year. Buster Davis has already proven himself valuable , and hence a breakout year. I have faith in seeing Justin Vincent doing much better this year, and I am very glad that Carey is running quite well (shifty like Dominic Dave).
