In what way did the older players handle it? Didnt seem they handled it in not a so subtle way with the way they hung out before he stepped on campus and after. How many times has Wafb reported rumors .....numerous of times Grambling said they were never contacted concerning RP. So that heresay and rumors also. The district manager wasnt even there Scott Aldridge was the manager on duty. Also can we remeber what Perilloux was called "worthless n*" but I forgot we only remember the bad rumors. Its funny how there are no threads, repeated TV reports or really a discussion here on Shomari Clemons being suspended for shoving a police officer.
I find that interesting as well (lack of Clemmons chatter), but it can be explained, I think, by RP's impact on next year's season vice Shomari's. Also, RP's national notoriety. Clemmons' deal may prove to be a big hit to our depth at LB.
I find it funny that a good amount of people on here are crucifying RP for minor things... but will be the first in line to volunteer to wash his jock strap when he tears up our competition this coming season. Which I fully think he will given I have seen this cat play and practice and he's hands down the best total package QB LSU has ever had. Whether you all like it or not... Miles can not and will not kick RP off the team for anything short of him committing a felony. He answers to the AD who in turn answers to the Alum... if Miles can not compete against the SEC he runs the risk of losing his job... and without RP, Miles knows he doesn't have a good shot in the SEC this coming season. Hence RP will be back in full practice following the spring game tomarrow.
Wow. So simple. Thanks for educating us. I had no idea CLM's contract is contingent on RP playing in the fall...that's a pretty risky clause. Boosters are very powerful but CLM is a millionaire elite coach. I think he views his job security differently than you do. As for RP, even though I completely disagree with your logic, I hope you end up being right for all of us. I have a feeling there are qualities in RP that are worth the effort. Obviously CLM thinks this way.
How times have changed. In previous years, there would have been major problems within the team because of erratic disciplne policies. The fact that RP is NOT a star player yet would prove to be a factor in how the rest of the team views the punishment that's been handed out. There is no doubt attitudes about discipline have changed relative to winning by both the players and the fans. Let's hope this doesn't blow up in Miles' face and bring down a proud program. There's more to this entire situation which Miles' is skating on thin ice about. Then I will be pissed that something wasn't done sooner.
Because this is being reported from a cop? I wouldn't hold to much water on that by itself. We all know there are some hot headed cops out there.
Now that's interesting. I guess we should believe what those who have a vested interest in the situation are saying- if they were saying anything. If I told this forum there was some very strong evidence that pointed to the fact that Bama players were being targeted by cops, I'm sure it would fly. If I went on to say it even involved AU grads who were on the force...neva mind, I know the reception it would get.
