You guys can't take things into context... When I said he is second string, I meant that if Russell went down, they would gear him to take over the following week... But he isn't second string in terms of gamedays where Russell is healthy.B/c if we need someone to knee the ball, they won't waste a year playing him, when Flynn can do that... I hope this all isn't an issue, b/c I hope JR is healthy all year, but I do believe that if JR goes down, RP goes in
Do you have to apply for a redshirt before a certain date? I know he burns it if he plays from here out, but at what point can they no longer redshirt him? Does it come during the season, or if he goes all season without playing they can redshirt him then?
I think that's BS. What sense does that make? If JR goes down I think Flynn steps in, if he struggles he'd probably get yanked early, but Flynn is the backup QB for a reason.
I have no idea if Clair is right or not, but it does make sense. If the coaches want to redshirt Perrilloux, they can't play him this year. So, in that sense - Flynn is second string simply because Ryan can't play. However if Russell went down with an injury, they would no longer want to redshirt Ryan & he would be free to take over the now number one QB spot.
