Thanks BrettStah - finally a mature comment about this.

I don't know what bugs me worse - the attitude that lack of police charges equals innocence, or the attitude that anyone who points out that RP is still a headcase (and therefore dangerous to the program) is a racist.

Well, I'm as far from a goody two-shoes, white bread racist as you'll find - and I'm still convinced we haven't seen the last of this kid's selfish behavior.

Here's hoping I'm wrong.

CLM handled this nearly perfectly assuming he doesn't have any evidence that RP did anything else besides act an idiot by not WALKING AWAY. There are still lots of folks telling a different story.

Bottom line - we will never know what really happened. But we will eventually know if RP has learned anything.

The people it pissed off were his future teammates. Most fans were looking with anticipation to seeing him lead the team next year. Many of the most vocal doubters this week were calling for RP to replace Flynn or get more playing time before the brawl. Most of the criticism is due to the apprehensions of fans who are worried that we won't have an experienced quarterback next year if RP continues his life on the edge.

I probably know the guy better than most on here. I don't like saying that, actually I hate being "that guy" but you defend him like he was an angel. My comments previously were directed to what he had done in the past and did not even involve this past incident, which includes a lot of **** you don't know...so get off your high horse.

 

How is telling people to chill out on making judgements before the facts came out "defending him like an angel"? Where did I say the guy is a saint?

 

Yeah, I'm hearing this from a lot of folks I respect and think have zero reason to just trash RP - people who are actually hoping he gets his crap in a sack.

So that's what bothers me, too.

We'll never know.

 

Can we just kill this issue now and all get along like the happy family we are?

What I think is funny is that nobody here has decided to boycott RP, because (as you say) we don't know all the facts. I think we all want RP to just get it together. Yet you don't know all of the facts either, but your signature is BOYCOTT THE VARSITY. HMMMMMMM:huh:
