    Wallace Wade
  2. Re: What Saban Doesnt Understand!!!

Got it backwards the first time, TM...or did you forget the ,? :)

Correct. I can't recall how much success Frank Thomas had when he left...
  3. Re: What Saban Doesnt Understand!!!

    Considering Bear is still there...No!:hihi:
  4. Re: What Saban Doesnt Understand!!!

Ah, I remember now...bad health with Thomas, promoted to Alabama AD
  5. Re: What Saban Doesnt Understand!!!

Ironically, he was an Asst. HC for 4 years before he left to take the HC job at Vandy
  6. Re: What Saban Doesnt Understand!!!

Hold it right there. Arnsparger didn't go to another COACHING position, but I would say his stint as UF AD was pretty successful. And for your information, Curley Hallman is a very successful coach...at Muscle Shoals High School in Muscle Shoals, AL.

No, just had a brain fart. I knew it sounded wrong as soon as I hit submit.
  8. Re: What Saban Doesnt Understand!!!

7...count em 7, dumb azz rediculous threads gump related on our front page. What the he11 is wrong with you people? It seems we have a bunch of ninnies who are so obsessed with that coach and cant let it go.

THIS IS AN LSU BOARD! When 1/3 of the topics on our first page are related to gump issues, something is wrong. :dis:
  9. Re: What Saban Doesnt Understand!!!

I suppose you can say that Dietzel was successful after leaving LSU, He coached at Army, his lifelong dream, and later at South Carolina. He was AD at South Carolina and later at LSU. Not a fabulous success, but certainly not a failure. He certainly did regret leaving LSU because Cholly Mac was more successful than he was.

Bill Arnspager also was successsful as AD at Florida and later returned to coach in the NFL again with San Diego at DC, his life-long specialty.

Gerry Dinardo coached a year as a pro in the short-lived WFL and later at Indiana, but he dod get fired there.

Mike Archer has had a long carreer as a DC but has never sought a head coaching job again.

Curley Hallman, last I heard, was a drywall contrator in Tuscaloosa.
  10. Re: What Saban Doesnt Understand!!!

Curley did have some success as a position coach...he's one of the best DB coaches I've seen...would be in my top 25.
