Secondly, you say that Jared had commited to Auburn early this week is wrong. He accepted the grayshirt offer from Auburn in the fall after he spoke with Connelly (former OL coach at Bama) and he had told him that we weren't going to recruit any OLmen for the '07 class.--then you tell Cooper that. He was interviewed after he commited to Auburn and said the 48 hours hours he spent in Auburn last weekend convinced him that's where he wanted to go so he went ahead and told Tubs. You like to refer to vague conversations but rarely support them with facts. You should also note that bama already has two OLs who have accepted greyshirts so it will be interesting to see what they think about Cooper being offered the full scholly now.

The W.S. Neal head coach is Blane Hathcock. Coach Hathcock said, and I quote:
"There was a time when Jared thought the only place he'd ever consider was Alabama, but, naturally, that changed when it became clear that they weren't going to recruit him.---I accept that as being true. Lots of kids change their mind in such cases. Let me be clear, I am not faulting Slick for going after Cooper in a decent fashion. I just think the way he went about it was poor.

That is something that Jared looked at and thought that it was worthwhile to consider."--if Cooper changes his mind, I will understand and wish him well. All these kids need to do what they think is best. If we do lose Cooper it won't be a disaster since the #5 OL in the country (Ziemba in Arkansas) commited to Auburn this morning. It's just too bad your coach isn't professional in his approach. But it will catch up with him, believe me. He is going to have all the other coaches around telling the kids they better watch out.

After spending more than a decade dealing with fans like the one's you have just mentioned, I've pulled out of the association I had with Bamanation Partners, aka Tidefans.com. I had a great time there...spent more than a decade heavily involved in the day to day operations.

However, it reached a point that there were too many things going in directions that...well, didn't mesh with mine. More so than that, in retrospect, it was one of the smartest moves that could be made. Going through this past decade of both ups and downs I can now sit back and be a fan...enjoy the passion I have for the program, but, most importantly be able to sit back on a Saturday and enjoy the game again for what it is...what it was meant to be...without having the worries of watching a forum to see if there were things that needed to be deleted, people who needed to be put in a time-out, etc.

I don't regret the last decade at all...able to meet hundreds of great fans across the SEC...able to establish contacts in and around all the programs...so in esssence, I'm not missing a thing about the program, other than dealing with the embarassment of being associated with a certain segment of the fan base.

I hate to hear that you're no longer associated with Tidefans. You've always been one of my favorites. But I agree, this past season would have put a strain on me had I been in your shoes. I didn't even visit the forum on Sunday's and Monday's, even after a win. Tidefans lost a great asset. RTR
