I will never applaud the opponents head coach. If my grandmother took the bama job, I would boo her @$$ aith every breath in my lungs.

I can promise you Pete Carrol would have a warmer reception than SayWhat Saban will receive!

There are way to make it shorter, too. Saban signed a 7-year contract with LSU making him the highest-paid coach in America. He left within two weeks.

I would rather have someone who wanted to play for my university than my coach.

Does anyone remember Tubberville saying the only way he was leaving Old Miss was in a pine box?

Yes my wife does have a law degree from the University of Chicago. :D

Like Red says there are ways to make one shorter too. One way to make it lucrative to stay the length of the contract is to add an incentive bonus after X number of years on the job.

LSU tried that, too. Nick walked away from a huge annuity that he would have collected at the end of the contract.

I didn't think that High-Zinger would give Saban more money.

I expect Saban to take the more lucrative offer and head to Bama.

Saban's never been fired from a job, because, he always knows when to bolt -- just after a peak and before a slump. He's very savvy that way. He's bolting the Fins, because he knows that he won't meet their expectations before he would be at risk of getting fired.

Nick has a lot of expectations at Bama. It will be very interesting to see whether his performance at LSU was because his coaching skills are so great -- or perhaps it was because LSU provides a special opportunity to field great football teams due to LSU's special circumstances.

We are all going to find out whether Nick Saban made LSU what it is today OR

WHETHER LSU MADE NICK SABAN WHAT HE IS TODAY.

    I'm guessing the latter.

If he goes to Bama, it may take him a few years before he can put things in order, especially his brand of defense which is more complicated. I just hope he doesn't steal some blue chip defense recruits from LSU:dis: since he is a good defensive coach.

How much was that annuity Red? I remember reading about it but don't recall the numbers. Wasn't it so much per year but he had to stay so many years to collect any of it? One more question, Saban had his contract worded at LSU where if he won the NC he would make $1 more than the highest paid head coach in Div 1, do you know if Bob Stoops had that same clause in his contract?
