Fanatic, Considering your comment about Wanstedt getting fired. You said if Wanstedt wouldn't have gotten fired that it would be 2-3 years before Saban was offered another job, I would imagine he would have had a good shot at getting the 49ers job, don't you think. Didn't they let go of the coach and GM?
Can't argue with that at all, but that's exactly what Miami did. Sure, they went out and signed David Boston and he would've bolstered their receiving corps, but he's never been a game breaker. Glad we agree on Ricky being the catalyst. We would've eventually lost Saban, but it's possible we could've had a few more years before that happened if Ricky doesn't flake out. :thumb:
I believe the main reason Miami lost so many games this year is Wanstadt. When Ricky retired, Wannstadt cried in the press, thereby telling the rest of the team that they weren't going to win w/o RW. What a way to motivate a team! If he were a real coach, his public stance should have been to say that it wont make a difference in the makeup and play of his team, no matter what he might of thought in private, thereby giving the rest of the team the respect it deserved. He lost his team then, at the beginning, and DW could never get them back. That's why the team started playing better after he was gone. You can't have your leader being such a wuz.
Not trying to be sarcastic here, but I don't remember him crying in the media. I don't watch much TV (except football), so I must have missed it.
