I previously reported on Thanksgiving Saban was seriously considering an offer from the Atlanta Falcons. I heard yesterday the deal is for five years at $5 mill a year. LSU is countering with a 15 yr deal worth $45 mill. From what I hear Saban has not made a decision one way or another. His wife loving Baton Rouge may keep him here. One more thing, if the Saban leaves for the NFL the Tigers are in heavy negotiations with Spurrier...
Once again Saban will not go to the pros. This quote is by him He will not leave to go to the NFL. Why would he leave a job that will pay him over 2 million dollars a year and the chance to impact players for the rest of their lives. He loves working with college kids. If he goes to the NFL he will have to coach 5 million dollar thugs who only look out for themself. Proof Once Again Saban is Not Leaving
Houston Chronicle Article There is a great article by John McClain, the local NFL expert, in today's Houston Chronicle. Link: http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/sports/2289012 Selected excerpts: I particularly like the second sentence of that last paragraph!
I just got off the hotline with Nick Saban... His response to these allegations to me? "You tell the members of Tigerforums.com that they'll have to carry me out of Baton Rouge in a pine box!" Just joking, fellas...a little Tele-tubby humor there...
the Spurrier ending REALLY killed the credibility there.... How could there possibly be an offer when Saban has to let Bertman know before he can speak to a team? I know that Saban has to do that, its in his contract. Bertman says they haven't spoken.. aww crap... why do I even get caught up in this?? if you want to believe hes leaving go ahead. I haven't seen or heard anything, including your rumor, thats suggests he is even interested in considering offers. lots of stuff suggests hes ready to re-up with LSU though...... it won't be a 15 year deal however....
