Hopefully this article will put to rest all the speculation that has run rampant here on the boards since the middle of the season. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/bowls03/news/story?id=1689967
According to the Cincinnati Enquire, Jimbo Fisher has withdrawn his name for consideration of the Cincinnati Bearcats head coaching job. Here is the article: http://www.enquirer.com/bearcats/2003/12/19/uc1jimbo.html
Jimbo should reconsider the Cinn. job. It will be in the Big East, which should keep its BCS standing. The tv markets that the Big East potentially has will keep it in the bcs. I'd like to hope that Nick's statements ends the speculation, but it hasn't for the last 4 years. Just something you got to live with. The time to worry is after the NFL regular season ends, not now.
If Fisher passed on Miss. St. of the SEC why would he want Cincy. With regards to Saban vs. media rumors: how many times does he have to say it. I like this quote from him: "I always say history is the best indicator of what the future might bring, and this has happened before and I am still here."
It won't go away that easily. There are a lot of sports talk radio and sports writers and so on in NFL cities and they have to fill air time and gab and so on. It just won't stop in the next few years. When Nick gets older it will fade away, but not now. Just deal with it. Like I said, most major cities up North have at least 2 sports-talk radio stations and most have at least one. You got to talk about something.
"LSU meets Oklahoma in the Jan. 4 Sugar Bowl at the Louisiana Superdome for a share of the national championship." For a share of the national championship!?!?
Someone has annointed USC as winner of the national championship already. Why should Michigan even show up?
