I understand what you are saying. When you really think about it though, there have never been any "leaders" on Saban's teams -- just a collective group of young men who all do their part. In this instance, two young kids are being asked to each play their own individual role as quarterback. Does this cause uneasiness amongst some fans? Apparently so. Does this cause uneasiness with their teammates thouigh? Most likely not, they speak highly of both. It's ok, not everyone can be like Dulac Dat.
mindblowing? easy there, lay off the exaggeration sauce. Nick worried about someone's feelings? Surely, you jest, and don't call me shirley. CNS HATES a 2 QB system more than anyone on this planet ....its obvious he knows this is his best chance to win and gets JR acclimated to SEC road hostility. You dont throw him into the fire if you feel it could destroy him. Ya see, each personality is different and a good HC knows which players can do it and which can't. Confucius say: "Man who associates with smarter men than himself is smarter than the men he associates with." what's that saying have to do with my story? nothing really. Anyhow, you can rightfully conclude that MR's presence will go a long way into LSU's success this year. He is a vital cog beyond his non-spiral passes. He will more than likely surprise many of the nay-sayers who are too shallow to see the coach's master plan. He is a'moldin and a'shapin his young stud the right way. JR will start sooner than later but it takes time, young grasshoppa'. Let teams prepare for both our attacks as they are vastly different and its one more advantage you hold over thy enemy. let the games begin.
Don't worry about it, you make legitimate points. Truth is we arent directly in the situation and dont see the chemistry (or lack there of) of the team up close. Saban and the other coaches do and have a history of good decision making. It is what it is right now but I trust that the best decision has been made given the circumstances. Welcome to the board. Welcome KTeamLSU- You are always welcome to disuss most anything you'd like. Some things are received better than others but don't let that deter you. Welcome.
Mauck was a great leader on and off the field, I'm not saying that both these guys are great athletes and well respected, but in order to have a great team come together, they have to be able to follow someone. Rohan Davey had this quality and Matt Mauck had this quality, the players knew that these guys would be there to lead them to the promised land, and played hard for them. When you have a dual QB situation, its like having TWO presidents... both good leaders but "who do you follow"?
do not dismiss my previous post, grasshoppa. For thine answer lies within simplicity. you have answer...you just don't see answer. jimmyson, focus. here.
I dont think "letting" coach Saban is an option. I am a Fan he is a Coach, just conversation. I agree with anything he does, I just hold my tongue on other things
I sure hope Saban knows which one to start. I let the battery on my cell phone run down today and I'm sure he must have been trying to call while it was recharging.
