I listened to Paul Finebaum's interview with Nick Saban yesterday. Saban said he wished that he hadn't moved around so much and had stayed in one place to build a program. He said that he was always focused on the next goal and his goal was to be an NFL head coach. It was only after becoming the Dolphins coach that he realized that he would rather coach in college. He also said that he didn't know that that was what he wanted until he actually left. If he had stayed would LSU have those three extra BCS titles?
Nick has said all along that leaving LSU was a mistake. He knew it. He blew it. Fortunately we found a guy who beat Nick's five year record in his first five years . . . or any five years in his 10 years here.
I agree, but I was answering the question. Saban is an asshole. I wouldn't trade Miles for any. he has done LSU proud.
Nick thought the pressure at LSU was unbearable in 2004, I remember him lamenting about fans being dissappointed when we lost 3 games. Now he knows what real pressure is after experiencing a couple of years at Miami and even after winning championships at Bama. I'd bet a couple of dollars he has fantasized a few times about still being at LSU and of course winning championships.
