Not many, but there are some. Such was the case in 2004 at LSU when Saban was the highest-paid coach in college football. But someone came along with more money who wouldn't take no for an answer. Miami was paying him top NFL dollars too, but somebody came along with cash and wouldn't take no for an answer.

You think it can't go any higher, but it can. And Nick always caves in to the hard sell, it's how we got him from MSU--top dollar and the hard sell. I think you'll keep him for 4 or 5 years but that's long enough to bring stability.

This thread is great...Kinda reminds me of somthing...

Alabama is kinda like the New York Yankees. Everyone hates them because they buy their players (like we are "buying'' our coaches)...

What's funny is...I hate the Yankees too! So, I can see ya'lls (that's Bama talk there) point! LOL

Yeah I see that. Well, after not having internet for months, then a brief period, before my cat chewed though my modem cord, I'm back...Much to the enjoyment of you Tiga's I'm sure :hihi:

I dont care who is getting paid what...I just want to win...I think that they are finally getting that mentality but they are paying the price for it. Big bucks better pay off!

A miricle isn't going to happen in 1 year (especially with that defensive front) but as long as we take one of the big 3 (UT, LSU, AU) this year, I think it will be a decent year.

Who cares who you get, I just wanna win damnit!

Looks like that is basically the point of this thread. If the wins do not come as expected, then people will care about the money paid.

Which is probably why Saban can pay his assistants whatever he wants. They don't want him to have any excuse for losing. Because if he does this could be one of the biggest flops ever.

That's my point. At this time there isn't a reason for anyone else to want him. Should he bring Bama back to a MNC, then all bets are off. There would be plenty(relatively speaking) of schools wanting him.He has to first prove his worth in this setting at this salary.

Funny, very possible the same could be said for Miles. As long as it took for our fanbase to embrace him, there'll be many screaming for him to stay if/when that happens.
