I know the Saints desperately need a CB and perhaps a DE, but could they go with a QB here? If so who? Is Mahomes just a system guy or can he spin it? What about Kayaa out of Miami?

I have done zero research, so I am asking. I'll hang up and listen.

Kayak is too inconsistent for my liking. He needs 2 stay another year.

Detillier has thrown out the name Tim Williams as our possible number one. I would highly approve.

Sports Illustrated's first mock has Williams to the Saints. Also has LF7 to the Panthers.

Doesn't matter. The Saints will draft someone who will end up joining the ranks of those getting a check from us while playing for another team. The Saints talent evaluators suck.

Saints fire 5 assistants. Must mean Payton was just letting his agent pimp him again and he's staying.

    Joe vitt is out.

I don't know, this year's was dead solid, and even last year's has potential, though injuries to KiKaha, Williams and Swann are eating into the production. Jeff Ireland has handled the last 2 drafts. Peat's going to be solid, not top half of the first round solid, but he can be the long-term guy at LG. They blew it on Anthony, it appears, and probably Grayson. Kikaha, Davison, Williams and Swann can play.

Pro Football Focus has listed the top 25 NFL players under age 25....no Saints, although I think Michael Thomas belongs there. They passed over Jarvis Landry, too, while listing ODB number 1. This highlights how bad Saints drafting has been. In 2014, they traded up from No. 27 to No. 20 to pick Brandin Cooks in a WR-heavy draft. I like Cooks, but had they stayed put, they could have taken Kelvin Benjamin, who went at 28, or Landry at 58. They instead made a historically bad reach on Stanley Jean-Batiste with that pick, while Landry went at 63. The Cooks trade also cost them the 91st pick...Carolina took Trae Turner at 92 (and number 18 on that PFF list).

They signed LB Adam Bighill from the CFL today. He's a 4-time All-star and the league Defensive MVP in 2015.
