I mentioned a few times that I heard he was making huge strides in his rehab and Les Miles confirmed today that he will be ready for the Spring. Likely going to be in a non-contact jersey though.

I still would love to see what this kid could do in a 3-4 as an outside linebacker.

With him and Mingo, we have the OLBs to run a 3-4. Other than that not so much. I wish we could though.

Just think, Baker and Francois in the middle, Mingo and Montgomery outside, then the rotating on the D Line of Edwards, Adams, Brockers, Downs, Aghayere, Davenport, Logan, Allen, then the incoming Freak, Jernigan maybe....

I think Sam could be the next Demarcus Ware in the 3-4.

I think Mingo might have a better future at that position, but Sam does have a very bright future. I say Mingo because I think he might be better in coverage.

If Davenport could anchor the middle, we may be able to run a 3-4.

    DE-Brockers (Future 3-4 DE) , Downs
    NT-Davenport
    DE-Edwards/Aghayere (with added weight) Freak?

    OLB-Montgomery Maclin
    ILB-Minter
ILB-Maclin? (He has the size to play on the inside)
    OLB-Mingo or Baker

I think the concerns would be at ILB and NT.

Really glad to hear he's recovering. When he went down our defense took a step back. Hope he can be fully healthy by the opening game of next season.

We ran a 3-4 on several occasions last year. I really loved our flexibility on defense.

My favorite Player at LSU right now, wish him a fast recovery, hopefully he will be in tearing it up next year.
