the elian question is simple. you never tell a father he cant have his kid back after the mother has died. the father wants the kid, he gets him, end of story. clinton adminstration did the right thing.
However, it begs the question: DID the father really want the kid, or was he told by Uncle Fidel that he wanted the kid?
I disagree with the way it was done. The kid going back to be with his father was the right thing but sending in the stormtroopers to hold a gun to his head was the wrong way to do it. Clinton sure didn't like the military but he sure liked to use the ATF and the FBI with full blown military tactics.
