I told him that he wasn't as good as Pete. He said the only reason Pete scored as much as he did is because he was the only player on that team. I think he just has penis envy like every other ULLLL fan.
I have both videos in regular .avi format... if someone has a place I can upload them to for others to download them so that they're playable off your computer in pretty much every media player PM me and I'll upload them to the server. Most public video hosting makes it difficult for the end user to download the video instead of stream it. DLing from youtube just puts a flash video on your computer, most don't feel like finding a flash video player just for that. AVIs are a widely supported standard. So if someone wants to host them for downloading PM me, I'll be more than happy to upload them. They're each between 15-20MB in size. Oh and while we're talking past LSU BBall players... Can't forget SKINNY Shaq!
thats when shaq was listed at 299 when at LSU. I always wondered what his actual weight is today instead of the 340 or whatever he claims. i always believed he was near 400 lbs.
I played golf at his tourney last summer. In person, I would guess that he was about 360-375. I wouldn't doubt that he weighs 400 lbs at times.
ldskule: I had the pleasure to see pistol's first college game, at SLC in Hammond, La the freshman team played SLC. He played only part time and I think he got over 40 points. I saw a lot of his games in person and he was the absolute best.
ldskule: He was the only player i ever saw warm up for pregame where he put on his show to the tune of "Sweet Georgia Brown" and the other team would stand and watch him go thru his paces.
Pete was before my time although my dad made sure to take me to a Jazz game when I was about 6 months old to see him play. My dad was at LSU when Pete was playing on the freshman team and drawing bigger crowds than the varsity. I also tried out for that movie in the late '80s, The Pistol, that focused on him during his first year playing on his high school varsity team as a freshman or sophmore. In the last 5-10 yrs, there were two documentaries about his career that were really good. I think one of them was the ESPN hour-long "SportsCentury" feature and the other may have been done by CBS. Although his dad certainly helped mold him into the superstar that he became, he also may have ruined him a bit by centering the entire offense around Pete. The relationship he had with his mother and the entire family dynamic was not normal. I think Pete seemed to finally become comfortable with himself before he died, which is the most important thing. The two "what if's" in his NBA career included the fact that his Jazz team may have finally been coming together and were going to make the playoffs in the year that he suffered his serious knee injury. Also, during his last year with the Celtics, he wasn't nearly the same player but was part of a winning team as a role player. He decided to retire because it was difficult to accept that role and the Celtics won the championship the following year. I also got to see him play with the Shooting Stars a few years before he died on a team that included Meadowlark Lemon & Curley from the (original?) Harlem Globetrotters. I knew them from Scooby Doo so they were big time to me.
