i agree with this. and it is the whole reason some ou fans i know dont want to be in a super conference if it has too many power houses. one told me he didnt want ou to be in a conference like the sec that just beats each other up they are all so good.

The SEC could slip and still be light years ahead of every other conference.

I don't think it is socioeconomic development, I think it is demographics.

Cue the "That's Racist" gif...Just kidding. But yeah, that is basically included under the umbrella of socioeconomic development.

In the early 20th century, scores of black families from the south were relocating to the north. This happened from the turn of the century up until the 60s and 70s.

Now that the civil rights movement is almost a half-century old, and the southern economy is doing better than that of the rust belt, we're seeing a re-migration of black families to the south.

the only decline may be NC's. that takes a good bit of luck and happenstance.

we've been pretty lucky as a conference in that regard.

but thats strictly a numbers game. some other conferences have to win by chance.... eventually. maybe. boise is gonna win the next 3.

    So let's see here...

ESPN has a contract with the SEC.

Pat Forde is a lead writer for ESPN.

He writes an article proclaiming the SEC's greatness, warning of potential pitfalls.

    How self-serving is that...?

He is correct the SEC is the best conference, pinpointing the BCS Championship run with multiple winners... good job, Pat.

Dominance at the top is a good thing, no doubt about it.

But "Conference Dominance"... Pat needs to do his homework....

In the past decade (2000-2009) the SEC has mopped up against the ACC, but the SEC is 8-6 against the MWC, 20-15 against the Big 12, 18-15 against the Big Ten, 9-11 against the Pac 10, and 10-17 against the Big East.

That's 65-64 against those five conferences... 129 games... does someone see dominance?

Florida and Bama go 31-1 the past two years (when not playing each other)... the rest of the conference is .500 or worse, except for Georgia going 10-6.... Hey, you guys have a great conference... be proud of it... but DOMINANT as a conference... that's funny!!
