I like KSU, but we need Auburn to win to help our strength of schedule. Winning ugly would be nice. An embarassingly close win would be perfect.

Yes and if Muschamp earns his paycheck it will be a AU win.

does it annoy anyone else that Lavelle Hawkins, from Cal, jersey is too small and it shows his belly button? I keep half expecting him to pull his helmet off and be a woman.

I guess it's the "W" that matters but sheeesh, South Carolina 28-14 against UL and Arkansas giving up 26 to Troy- not to mention Cal's 45 on Tennessee. Ole Miss 23-21 with MEMPHIS?

LSU, Florida, Georgia Alabama and Vanderbilt (Even though it was Richmond) very stong showings for our conference. As for as the other wins, obviously, winning is better than losing but they won't help our conference argument- though losing would definitely hurt it.

Black Jack, a lot of that is cause Cal is a good team.......admit it. Their defense put some BIG LICKS on Tennessee. Props to Ainge, he played through the pain and threw the ball well, at one point I got excited and thought they were going to pull it off.

Back to Cal........go on, admit it. :hihi:

    I'm witcha! :thumb:

That's honestly the only thing that really matters to me. The conference argument thing gets so old, as long as LSU is at the top (Conference-wise and Nationally) what more could we ask for.

Tennessee doesn't have as many playmakers as it did last year on the outside.

The media talks about Meachum, but it was Brett Smith that was Ainge's bread and butter receiver.

And Cal picked on UT's inexperienced corner.
I will not be surprised if Tennessee has a down year.

The UT loss to a very good Cal team was the low point for the SEC this weekend. However, the Ole Miss win over Memphis was basically a case of two very poor teams playing and someone had to win.

I agree with a previous post that this will be a down year for UT. I also suspect you will hear rumblings from time to time during the season about Fulmer as well as Croom and Coach O. I don’t think Fulmer will get the boot – yet, but if Coach O doesn’t get Ole Miss to a bowl I think he will be gone, and I fear that one of the nicest and most decent coaches in the conference, Croom, is a goner.

We’ll need the second game of the season to measure the teams, but Memphis 21 points against Ole Miss (the Tigers had 30 first downs and 467 net yards and trust me folks, Memphis is bad this year); Troy’s 26 against Arkansas (the Trojans has 20 first downs and 376 net yards); Cal’s 45 against UT; and our 45 against State doesn’t point to defense being the coin of the SEC realm this year (or at least for Ole Miss, Arkansas, UT and MSU).

I am not sure how good or bad ULL may be so I really can’t judge their showing against South Carolina. Any one on the board have a feel for it???

Non- SEC: While the App State win over Michigan was the upset of the weekend, Arkansas State showing against Texas really surprised me. The Indians hung in there with Texas, and with 26 first downs and 396 net yards – 5.6 per down, I was real surprised because Arkansas State is another bad team.
