I understand it is easy to give that "credit" to Vanderbilt... but if you look, LSU has only had 2 violations to Vandy's 1. These two violations could be two different sports (1 baseball, 1 football)... or two different coaching staffs... 1 80's, 1 00's.

All I'm saying is you can't compare LSU (2) with Auburn (7) or Alabama (6) because there is willful violations when the number gets over 3 or 4.

Right it looked that way but most knew that it was actually a shrine of Bush in the background his hero and friend.

On the infraction stuff. I dont think we will see any problems with breaking rules at LSU for some time. The best hire of Bertmans career was a member of the NCAA rules committee. That has to help LSU chances of becoming a respected program.

It absolutely does matter. The fact is that current Pac-10 teams have more violations per team than current SEC teams. That's the only point I was making. The article is BS in bashing SEC when if you step back and look at it on a per team basis, the SEC does not have the most infractions.

Not claiming moral superiority, I just don't think it warrants an entire article bashing a league, using misleading stats and calling it a rogue league when there is another league just as bad and even slightly worse. They don't even mention the Pac-10 has having a problem with recruiting violations.

Obviously, one violation is too many, but to go off on the SEC with these stats is irresponsible.

Actually, Alabama has 4, not 6, and one of those was in basketball.

Tidbit: The basketball violation, which was self-reported and got the coach in question fired, still got our probation extended... hence the repeat offender status for the Means scandal.

Two different coaching staffs but the same institution. My underlying point is college athletics (especially football) is about as corrupt as it can be. I witnessed it first hand back in '95 playing JUCO baseball. We had a first baseman that had to go to JUCO to get his grades and he played with us one season then went on to Auburn. The stories I could tell you. If it's going on at that level and to that degree (back in 95), considering how society has "progressed" in it's moral standards I can almost guarantee you it's gotten much worse and happening at a much more frequent rate.

I very seriously doubt that there are many legit "clean" programs operating today. When you have as much money on the table as you have in today's college football and the enormous pressure to win and win now. To think it's not happening at an alarming rate would almost be having your head in the sand.
