He certainly did this, as did C. Scott. I saw Charles' fingers to the sky while looking straight at the crowd as a #1 call IMO, as he did not appear to be looking up towards the sky indicating a praise the Lord signal. Green did look and gesture into the stands after he broke from his teammates, I'll find a pic from my TIVO feed and post it here later. Either way, a little silly for the SEC to come out with this now. Just gives punks like Richt more ammo in the future.
Charles Scott would not know how to showboat to save his life. He's what college athletics should be about. Not admonished for. Phucking SEC.
That was totally uncalled for:dis:, now we are gonna be hearing this crap from them lil dogs :rolleye33: And I dont understand why Tebow, and Stafford got away with doing the calling cell phone taunt last year at tiger stadium:insane: I mean wtf did they get a penalty NO! I Phucking hate sec ref, espn, announcers, and commentators. They are all swinging on each others nuts:lol:
note to sec official.... ya got a little something on your chin there, sport. ya might want to wipe that off.
SEC officiating is atrocious. A half retard monkey could do a better job then these guys. Nothing pisses me off more then when they go back and review tape and still get the calls wrong. I can understand in the heat of the moment to make a miss call. (Sometimes) But after reviewing the film days later and still be wrong? They did the same thing in that Auburn game a few years back. They ruled that was a correct no call. :dis:
:geaux: It does suck, but when all is said and done Richt and the Dawgs still have the "Big L" tattooed all over their a$$e$!:thumb: 20 - 13, deal with it!:hihi: Whinin' ain't gonna change the score. :LSU231:
I often wonder which is worse: leaving the officials at their own discretion in making calls, or getting orders from the front office to "emphasize" certain calls. The latter definitely seems to be the case across the country, not just the SEC, from the games I've seen so far this year. For reasons only the NCAA knows, it seems obvious that the officials are under orders to call excessive celebration penalties. I also have to believe that, SEC officials issues aside, left to their own judgment they wouldn't throw a flag unless obvious taunting was involved. Tebow doesn't count since in the eyes of the NCAA and media he's bigger than Jesus, the Beatles, Elvis, Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan put together. What I actually see as a bigger problem, both in the NCAA and NFL, is how officials are treating QBs with kid gloves. God help you if you're a defensive player and make even glancing contact with a QB after the throw, or if you lay a hand on that running QB to force him out of bounds, you will get roughing called on you. The likelihood of this happening is proportional to how big of a meal ticket the QB is to his team and conference. Again, see Tebow. I understand protecting the QB, but this is football, and it's a rough contact sport, and I'm very uneasy at the prospect of having one set of rules for the QB and another for everyone else. You can take it to the bank that if Tebow plays this weekend he will have better protection than Obama when it comes to the zebras.
Technically it was a correct no-call for pass interference since the ball was tipped past the line of scrimmage. It was, however, clearly defensive holding, which could have easily been called instead. I think after Lafell got mugged in the end zone with no call in that game, Tuberville knew they were gonna let his team get away with murder and told his D to play accordingly. The SEC office then did their all-too-typical circling the wagons routine the next day.
